Slow growing conifer that forms a shrub-like small tree. Interesting textural foliage makes this a great choice for a specimen tree. In the South Island, it is naturally found in shrublands and forests from subalpine habitats to sea level. Prefers some shelter and requires ample moisture in summer months. Very hardy.
