One of the fastest-growing and best-formed stringybarks, this species will grow on lower fertility sites that are free-draining, but are away from full wind exposure. The timber is pale, moderately durable and very highly regarded in Australia, and is used for posts and building. Flowers from June-August. Evergreen. Regarded as one of the more frost tolerant stringybarks to -8 degrees C.
