Acer palmatum
This maple is famed for its excellent autumn colour and as a stately shade tree. The prized autumn leaf colour sees leaves changing from green in spring and summer into amazing shades of yellow, orange and red tones. Mulch well in summer to keep the roots cool and moist. Cold hardy, but needs protection from strong winds otherwise leaves tend to scorch and burn.
