Metrosideros ‘Mistral’
A natural hybrid of M. excelsa and M. robusta discovered on Great Barrier Island. It has stunning scarlet flowers December/January on deep, dark-green foliage. A tidy, small tree, compact with a semi-upright growth. Will tolerate very tough conditions including salt-laden winds and poor soil. Evergreen. Semi-hardy.
