Astelia chathamica ‘Silver Spear’
Kakaha / Silver Bush Flax
A striking native plant, great for visual interest in the garden. Has the look of a silver flax with more textured foliage. Does best in a part shade situation, but can handle full sun too. Orange berries borne from February-June are attractive to birds. Needs good drainage. OK in coastal conditions. Best in a sheltered spot protected from heavy frosts.
