A medium sized, leguminous tree. Flowers profusely from September-November. Flowers at a younger age, and has larger blooms than S. microphylla. Nectar is attractive to birds and bees. More suited to moister areas and does not tolerate dry as well as S. microphylla. Semi-deciduous. Reasonably hardy.
