A tall, round-headed tree with handsome yew-like foliage. Bright-red succulent fruit eaten by birds. Valuable strong, dense and straight-grained timber. Attractive bark is grey/brown and falls off in thick flakes. Trims well as a hedge. Evergreen. Avoid frosts while young, hardy to -6oC.
