Mespilus germanica – Medlar
A highly ornamental tree. Allow fruit to remain on the tree as long as possible into winter and harvest when it picks easily. Will grow in almost any soil condition but prefers well-drained soil in a sunny position. Profuse white, blossom-like flowers in spring. Attractive red and yellow autumn colour. Deciduous. Hardy. Ripens April/May.
