Larix decidua
A distinctive tall, upright conifer with bright-green needles which change to bronze/yellow in autumn before falling. Prefers a cool, moist, sheltered, inland hill-country site. Valuable durable timber. Deciduous. Very cold hardy.
Southern Woods no longer sells Larix decidua. The species is a declared pest in the Canterbury Regional Pest Management Plan, we’ve kept this page up for reference.
