Makura Sedge

Vigorous, fast-growing green sedge common along streams and in wetlands, showcased along the Avon River in Christchurch. Its extensive root system makes it an excellent choice for erosion control. Over time, its arching foliage eventually rises on basal ‘trunks’, which is particularly noticeable in wetland areas. Hardy; thrives in wet soils.
