One of the fastest growing and best formed stringybarks, this species will grow on lower fertility sites that are free-draining, but are away from full wind exposure. The timber is pale, moderately durable and very highly regarded in Australia, and is used for posts and building. Flowers from June-August. This seedlot was collected from trees of superior form from a 17 year old stand in Hokianga. Evergreen. Regarded as one of the more frost tolerant stringybarks to -8 degrees celcius.
