Fast-growing dense shelter tree. Excellent timber tree on fertile, sheltered, well-drained sites. Can be susceptible to cypress canker. Salt tolerant.  Evergreen.  Cold hardy.

Strathallan Seedlot: Excellent seedlot from Forest Research Institute (FRI) progeny trial blocks. 43% improvement in canker resistance over Longwood seedlot and also less variation in tree form. Enquire for prices on larger quantities.
